Process Operators at our North Sioux City, SD plant are responsible for the safe operations, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting of an automated system that produces distinctive, high quality ingredients and solutions to the companion animal industry.

- Fully participate in the safety program, including reporting any incidents or near misses and auditing.
Main accountabilities
- Performing all job functions/activities with a strong safety commitment and compliance with all outlined safety policies and procedures
- Meeting and exceeding clear housekeeping/GMP standards and food safety protocols
- Accountable in the decision making for the operation and maintenance of all processing equipment and processes
- Monitoring and controlling process parameters and equipment utilizing PLC control systems
- Field inspections of process equipment within areas of responsibility
- Laboratory testing for key in-process and product specifications
- Finished product packaging
- Other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; work from heights, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability see color, smell and adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to humidity & high ambient temperatures, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. In addition this job also operates in a professional office environment.
Skills and experience required
A high school diploma or GED is required with additional secondary education or trade training preferred. Previous technical manufacturing process work experience is a plus. The position requires working in a 16hr per day/up to 6 days per week/365 day per year operation that requires the individual to work a 8-10 hour shift.
