Our client is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Aide to support the daily operations of their plating facility. The role involves working closely with the CAD / CAM engineering lead to ensure smooth and efficient operations across various tasks related to design, tooling, and plating processes. This is a direct placement opportunity.
- Support daily CAD / CAM operations, including tooling, script development, and process management for vertical integration.
- Read and interpret design files (e.g., .dxf, Gerber) using industry-standard software.
- Coordinate and create daily CAD / CAM packages for internal production facilities.
- Develop and tool files for Mechanical Processes, including soldermask and laser stencils.
- Lead the implementation of automated optical inspection scripts, addressing nuances between equipment and Vicor's applications.
- Work with engineering to establish design rules for the 3DI plating facility, ensuring communication of these rules for process capability.
- Learn and become proficient in using INCAM to generate production plating images, including :
Layer scaling for etch compensation.
Fixture multi-up imaging.Plating surface area calculations.Tooling images for tenting.Design for manufacturability (DFM) to check for rule violations.Create production travelers and process routings for specific parts, addressing location-specific requirements.Support hardware and file systems used in imaging, inspection, solder mask printing, and stencil cutting.Lead the installation of new Schmoll imaging machines.Provide troubleshooting and maintenance support for CAD / CAM files and associated hardware systems.Perform first-article validation and debug machine issues as necessary.Establish new part-specific parameters for NPI technology.Assist in creating part-specific documentation, including line width and space measurements and process notes.Support CAD engineers in change order / revision controls and front-end modification documentation.Contribute to the production process and continuous improvement efforts.Qualifications :
Experience : 5-7 years of CAD / CAM experience in a manufacturing or plating environment.Education : Associate's Degree or Technical Certification preferred.Skills and Experience :Expertise in Circuit CAD Layout and soldermask file creation.
Experience with optical inspection file generation and routing / traveler creation.Strong interpretation skills for production drawings.Experience qualifying new process equipment and generating equipment specifications.Capable of leading equipment qualification and buy-off processes.Experience in process yield improvement and monitoring performance.Ability to train and lead operators.Proficiency in debugging hardware and software for new manufacturing processes.Strong skills in problem-solving, statistics, and manufacturing quality principles.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to travel to off-site locations, including international equipment manufacturers.Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as needed.Flexibility to work second shift or weekends when necessary for training or equipment maintenance.Compensation :
Pay Rate : $58,000 to $95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.Benefits :
