We are seeking a GIS Mapper for our client to support the maintenance and analysis of the GIS connected model associated with utility systems. This role is ideal for individuals with 1-2 years of GIS experience (through schooling or work-related) looking to grow their career in the utility industry. You will perform a variety of GIS tasks related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of utility systems, with opportunities for fieldwork and exposure to a range of projects.Key Responsibilities : Maintain the GIS connected model with information from various sources, including work management systems, as-built construction drawings, work orders, completion records, field reports, and more.Perform data analysis, queries, and generate reports, charts, maps, and tabulations from asset information in the GIS model and other data sources.Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests containing information from the GIS model and other data sources.Maintain service point data and track the relationship between feeding source transformers.Track the lifecycle of utility assets, including history, inspection, and attachments.Resolve data conflicts, mapping issues, and land-related challenges through office or field investigations.Support major GIS projects, such as facility relocations, load rearrangement, and new business operations.Operate office equipment, including printers, plotters, scanners, and fax machines.File and maintain records and data related to GIS work.Perform manual or computer-aided drafting as required.Assist colleagues in fieldwork, plant work, or office tasks as needed.Perform other similar skilled work as assigned.Qualifications : Required Experience : 1-2 years of GIS experience (school or work-related).Understanding of GIS applications and how relationships work within GIS systems.Skills : Strong computer skills in MS Office and other Windows applications.Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD is a strong plus, but not required.Ability to analyze and work with GIS data, generate reports, and produce custom maps.Other Requirements : Ability to work at various PSE&G locations based on business needs.Valid driver's license to operate motor vehicles in New Jersey (fieldwork may require personal vehicle).Knowledge of electric utility systems and GIS applications related to transmission and distribution is beneficial but not required.Ability to work in a union environment and report to a supervisor.Open to : Candidates with GIS experience in industries outside utilities, including recent graduates with GIS experience from school or internships.Physical Requirements : Occasional fieldwork required (5-10% of the time).Ability to operate a car or light truck for fieldwork.Benefits : Health InsuranceSick Time401k Pay Range : $28.50 - $31.50 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications) By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
