We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Operations Coordinator to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience working with a Broker-Dealer (B / D) in Tax Reporting specifically for 1099, 5498, 1099-DIV , and 1099-A forms, along with strong project management skills . This is a Direct Hire position, offering the opportunity to make an immediate impact within the organization.
The Tax Operations Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the production, delivery, and compliance of client annual tax reporting to the IRS . You will work closely with internal and external teams to guarantee adherence to IRS reporting requirements while mitigating organizational risks. A deep understanding of broker-dealer transactions, tax rules, and IRS reporting requirements for tax documents such as 1099 and 5498 forms is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities :
Transactional Processing :
Review transactions for compliance with IRS 1099 and 5498 reporting guidelines.
- Address discrepancies by escalating issues to the appropriate departments for reporting corrections.
- Provide training based on analysis of tax reporting errors.
- Update online postings and client mailings regularly.
- Propose and implement process improvements to mitigate risk and enhance reporting efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation :
Analyze and identify trends in tax reporting for senior team members.
Client Service & Support :
Handle internal and external customer tax inquiries with professionalism.
Compliance & Risk Management :
Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and company policies for 1099 and 5498 forms.
Team Collaboration & Leadership :
Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental goals.
Project Management :
Initiate and complete tax-related projects and initiatives.
Qualifications : Experience :
A minimum of 4 years working with 1099 & 5498 tax reporting in a Broker-Dealer (B / D) environment or similar financial institution.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Licensing :
Series 6 and 26 preferred or the willingness to obtain.
Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of IRS tax reporting regulations .
Benefits :
Salary Range : $75,000 - $85,000 annually (Depending on experience and qualifications)
