This is a direct-hire opportunity where you will play a critical role in supporting and advancing process safety initiatives across multiple sites.Position Overview : As the Regional Process Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for driving process safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standard and Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulations. You will collaborate with facility leadership, corporate teams, and third-party auditors to identify and mitigate process safety risks, and provide subject matter expertise to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance. This role is integral to ensuring that process safety standards are consistently applied and continuously enhanced across the organization.Key Responsibilities : PSM Program Development and Management : Lead and improve the PSM program, sharing best practices, and ensuring compliance with OSHA PSM standards. Support site and capital projects to meet process safety requirements in design and implementation. Training and Communication : Develop and deliver training on PSM / RMP compliance and process safety standards. Strengthen the site's process safety resources and create comprehensive training materials. Reviews, Audits, and Investigations : Conduct compliance audits, lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and participate in investigations and process safety reviews. Support LOPA reviews, Hazard Assessment modeling, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR). Mechanical Integrity Program Governance : Develop and manage mechanical integrity programs to ensure compliance and track performance. Provide training on MI programs and assist with capital project support. Continuous Improvement : Recommend and implement improvements to process safety systems, ensuring that safety practices are evolving to meet industry best standards and regulatory requirements.Qualifications : Education : Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field. Advanced certifications (API, CSP, CCPSC) or graduate-level education are a plus. Experience : At least 5 years of experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) practices, specifically within petrochemical or chemical manufacturing environments. Skills : Expertise in process hazard analysis, risk mitigation, and PSM program execution. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA PSM and Clean Air Act RMP standards. Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ANSI, ASME. Proficiency in software tools such as SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PHA Works. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Leadership experience and ability to train and mentor teams. Compensation and Benefits Salary : $85,000–$105,000 (based on experience).
