Job Summary
The Snow Plow Operator is responsible for maintaining safe and accessible roadways during winter weather conditions. This role involves operating snow plowing equipment to clear snow and ice from streets, parking lots, and other designated areas. Duties
- Operate snow plow and other related equipment to clear snow and ice from roadways and parking areas.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including checking fluid levels and ensuring proper functioning of power tools.
- Build and maintain snow barriers as needed to ensure safe passage for vehicles.
- Dig out areas as required to facilitate effective snow removal.
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks during off-season, including tree care, gardening, and irrigation.
- Utilize hand tools for various tasks related to hardscaping and mowing as necessary.
- Follow safety protocols while operating machinery and performing manual tasks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating snow plows or similar heavy machinery is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools is essential for performing maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work in cold weather conditions for extended periods.
- Strong physical stamina and capability to lift heavy loads when necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during snow events.
- This position requires a dedicated individual who can contribute positively to our team while ensuring the safety of our community during winter months.
