What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Payroll Clerk position at Hephzibah Children's Association?
We are seeking an entry level, full-time payroll clerk who will be responsible for bi-weekly payroll submission, from the initial submission to the final submission to the software provider. Under the general supervision of the FAM and CFO, the Payroll Specialist prepares the bi-weekly payroll and some monthly general journal entries, including reconciling payroll liabilities, as well as performing other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to organize and work independently, to set work priorities and to meet work deadlines.
- Experience and competencies in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, and a demonstrated ability to gain computer skills in agency general ledger software.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and ability to work effectively with staff, vendors, oversight agencies and the public.
- Demonstrated analytical abilities, good judgment, high ethical standards, and strong operational focus.
- Requires continual attention to detail, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines, ability to work well under pressure, and ability to manage multiple tasks and demands.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences in the staff and client population.
