Role Overview
The Operations Lead will be responsible for optimizing HER’s operational infrastructure, with a focus on people operations, scaling our remote culture, and fostering a culture of growth and accountability. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll refine how we work, collaborate, and support one another while ensuring the team is aligned, motivated, and equipped to deliver on our mission.

You’ll lead initiatives to enhance our ways of working, build processes that reflect our values, and ensure that every team member can thrive—no matter where they are in the world.
Key Responsibilities
People Operations
- Design and oversee onboarding / offboarding processes that embody HER’s values and set team members up for success.
- Lead performance management processes, creating clear goals, feedback cycles and opportunities for career growth for team members.
- Create systems and spaces that allow our team to feel informed and clear about the business direction and progress, as well as troubleshoot day-to-day issues.
- Champion HER’s remote-first culture across multiple time zones, ensuring communication and collaboration remain seamless.
- Implement tools and workflows that enable productivity, transparency, and teamwork across a globally distributed team.
- Plan virtual and in-person team-building activities that reflect HER’s bold, inclusive, and sapphic culture.
- Be pivotal in fostering an environment where outcomes, ownership and experimentation and learning are prioritised.
- Align operational goals with HER’s mission to deliver meaningful growth for the business and its people.
- Establish reporting lines and systems to keep the team focussed on KPIs and OKRs that allow us to drive bigger outcomes for users.
- Build a culture of accountability for performance against core metrics and OKRs that motivates a team wanting to achieve the company Mission.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish data-driven processes for evaluating and reporting on the outcomes driven by the team.
- Experience: 10 years in operations, people management, or a similar role, preferably within a remote-first or scaling company.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead initiatives and bring people along with you, creating deep engagement in the systems you design .
- Cultural Alignment: A deep understanding of and commitment to HER’s mission and values.
- Sleeves up & self starting: You are the solution creator to problems. You don’t ask permission, you create the solution and show people how it works.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to develop and implement metrics-driven strategies for operational and cultural success, particularly when a KPI isn’t instantly available.
- Remote Expertise: Experience optimizing workflows and team dynamics in a fully remote, multi-time-zone environment.
- Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to connect with a globally distributed team.
- Tech-Savviness: You love experimenting with software tools and know tools like Slack, Notion, Figma, and HR software tools deeply.
