Job Summary
The IT Business Systems and Technical Specialist is responsible for providing Tier 2 support for ERP software, internally developed applications, and other business information systems. This role involves assisting end users with more complex technical issues related to computers, networking, and system functionality. The Specialist will leverage strong technical skills in JavaScript, SQL, and Office 365 applications, while also having a solid understanding of the Windows Operating System and general computing. Experience with Mac OS is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others are essential
Requirements:Key Responsibilities
- Provides tier 2 support for ERP software, internally developed applications, Office 365 and other business information systems
- Supports existing and develops enhancements to ERP system using SQL and JavaScript languages
- Assists users with Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint
- Collaborates with IT staff and other departments to ensure seamless support and service delivery
- Documents and tracks support requests and resolutions using our ticketing system
- Conducts training sessions and creates user guides to help staff effectively use our software and applications
- Stays up to date on the latest technology trends and best practices to continuously improve support processes
- Provides technical training and guidance to end users as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Job responsibilities and tasks may be modified from time to time based on the company's needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and SQL
- Solid knowledge of Office 365 applications
- Skilled in working with various business systems
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Specific knowledge of Deacom is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to carry out detailed oral or written instructions
- Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management
- Ability to work in a team environment without close supervision
- Identifies and shares continuous process improvement ideas with the supervisor and team members
- Previous experience in a similar IT support role is preferred
- Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical staff and customers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software
- Sharing ideas on continuous process improvement with the supervisor and team members
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
- at least four years of professional experience in IT, technical support, or system administration roles; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: The position requires extended periods of time spent working on a computer.
- Travel Requirements: The role may involve up to 20% travel, depending on business requirements.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
