This position will support lead bankers in interacting with investment banking clients and prospects. Primary focus will be helping non-profit senior living providers on financings, and advisory engagements, including mergers / acquisitions / sponsorship transitions. There will be considerable diversity in terms of work projects to which one is assigned. One must be comfortable working in a demanding, but collegial environment - capable of learning expediently and able to balance multiple projects effectively with a concern for deadlines. Specifically, he / she will work with Lead Bankers to :

  • Analyze and underwrite the credit of proposed senior living and long-term care financings.
  • Coordinate the financing process with architects, contractors, market and financial feasibility consultants, lawyers, issuers and other professionals to facilitate the closing of the financings and the distribution of funds
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of deal process

Solicitation and negotiation of term sheets from commercial banks, as well as proposals from verification agents and trustees

  • Interface with rating agencies to secure investment grade ratings
  • Review legal documents to ensure appropriate capture of key covenants and terms
  • Coordinating calls and information flow with working group and prospective investors
  • Draft pitch materials, RFP responses, information memoranda, and industry conference presentations
  • Prepare presentations to guide management and boards of directors in determining the most appropriate financing structures for their projects
  • Post financing, work with management and boards of directors to determine optimal investment and derivative strategies
  • Accompany senior bankers on business development and client meetings
  • Conduct research and due diligence in support of marketing plan and business development efforts.
  • Ensure the quality of client deliverables by paying strong attention to detail and supervise analysts and associate bankers to ensure work is complete on a timely and thorough manner
  • Requirements

    The right candidate will have :

  • 3-8 years' experience in Tax-Exempt Project Finance, preferably with experience in the senior living and / or healthcare sectors (Hiring level will be decided based on experience of right candidate)
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience with municipal bond sizing software (e.g. DBC Finance) preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills. Able to quantitatively and qualitatively assess markets and business models for attractiveness and strategic fit, including creating and analyzing financial models and statistically analyzing the results of primary and secondary research.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail; furnishes work products devoid of careless mistakes.
  • Superior presentation development skills. Ability to determine logical thought progression and craft impactful data visuals.
  • Proven ability to stay appropriately abreast of new trends and opportunities.
  • Ability to engage, persuade, and influence others with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to perform independent, in-depth analysis and generate concise conclusions and recommendations for moving forward.
  • Demonstrated level of maturity.
  • Superior time management skills; ability to meet deadlines on time.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple engagements and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
  • Ability to work well with senior professionals in an engagement team.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and strong personal integrity.
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks quickly.
  • Strong sense of self-initiative and readily able to work with limited direction.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and willingness to work more than an 8-hour day, when necessary.
