Title : BI Analyst Reports to : Chief Financial Officer Department : Finance Direct Reports : None Hours : Full Time, First Shift FLSA Classification : Exempt Position Summary : We are seeking a motivated and versatile Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in modernizing our BI infrastructure, ensuring data quality and governance, and empowering various departments with actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with our data team to design effective dashboards and build robust data pipelines, fostering a data-driven culture across the organization. Responsibilities : Collaboration with Data Consumers Requirement Gathering : Engage with different departments to understand their data needs, business questions, and reporting requirements. Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data solutions and dashboards. User Training and Support : Provide training sessions and documentation to empower departments to effectively utilize BI tools. Serve as the primary point of contact for data-related inquiries and support. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with the data team on data analysis, reporting, and leveraging existing analytical insights. Coordinate with DB Administrators / Programmers to manage database performance, data integration, and system optimizations. Work with the Director of Innovation to align BI initiatives with broader innovation and technology strategies. Dashboard and Visualization Design Tableau Expertise : Create, maintain, and optimize Tableau dashboards tailored to departmental needs, ensuring they are user-friendly and insightful. Continuously improve dashboard designs based on user feedback and evolving business requirements. Visualization Best Practices : Apply best practices in data visualization to enhance data interpretation and decision-making processes. BI Infrastructure Modernization Data Warehousing / Lakehouse Implementation : Evaluate and select suitable data storage solutions (e.g., ClickHouse, Snowflake) to meet the company’s data needs. Assist in designing and establishing data warehouse or lakehouse architecture to centralize legacy data sources. Data Pipeline Development : Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to integrate diverse data sources. Automate data extraction and transformation to ensure timely and reliable data availability for analysis and reporting. Data Governance and Quality Data Governance Framework : Collaborate with the data team to support the establishment of data governance policies ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance. Help define data ownership, stewardship, and access controls across departments. Data Quality Management : Implement data quality checks, monitoring mechanisms, and data cleansing processes to maintain high data standards. Work with DB Administrators / Programmers to resolve data inconsistencies and ensure data accuracy. Data Modeling Data Structure Design : Develop efficient data models that support fast querying and reporting. Ensure data models are scalable and adaptable to future business growth and changing data requirements. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business / data analytics, computer science, information systems, technically related field or equivalent experience. Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL databases. Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g. ClickHouse, Snowflake). Familiarity with data pipeline tools and processes (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend). Proficiency in data analytics (Tableau) for data visualization and dashboard creation. Ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices. Experience implementing data quality initiatives and maintaining data integrity. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently. Ability to train and support non-technical users in leveraging BI tools.
