What are the responsibilities and job description for the PA - Facilities Maintenance/Landscaping position at Herbruck Poultry Ranch?
Position Summary:. This full-time Facilities Maintenance position may be assigned a variety of duties, though the central focus will be landscaping and keeping our farm in tip-top condition!
Position Responsibilities:
- Mowing, weed trimming, watering, and other outdoor tasks
- Perform machine calibrations, timing adjustments, and various preventive maintenance functions (oiling, greasing, inspection, etc.).
- Perform minor and/or major machine diagnostics / performance tuning with supervision
- Perform build and installation of various machines with supervision.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
- Minor "home repair" tasks
- Ability to comply with the strictest standards for Food Safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare and to report incidents of abuse, neglect, or breach of standards to management.
- Maintain the general facility of the processing plant.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to perform minor machine diagnostics and performance tuning.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, manuals, and instructions.
- Able to work around moving machinery comfortably.
- Working in a farm environment with various conditions.
- Does not own or maintain routine contact with swine or birds.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
- Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
- Capable of working weekends and maintaining a flexible schedule. This includes regularly scheduled shifts Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays. (Being on Call).
