Job Summary
The Fleet Maintenance Operations Manager at Herc Rentals is a critical role that requires exceptional mechanical expertise and leadership skills. As a Mechanic A, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance operations of our rental equipment fleet. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all equipment is in top working condition, safe for use by customers, and meets our quality and efficiency standards.
You will develop and maintain a consistent schedule for performing preventative maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at your branch. This includes operating and testing equipment to ensure it passes our quality and efficiency standards, performing routine maintenance and repairs on all fleet equipment and trucks independently, and diagnosing internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining a consistent schedule for preventative maintenance
- Operating and testing equipment to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on all fleet equipment and trucks independently
- Diagnosing complex technical issues with internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems
A successful candidate will have 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds. You must also own sufficient hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services.
