Job Summary
Herc Billing Specialist is responsible for providing customer service and billing needs to accounts that require more specialized attention from time of billing until the receivable is paid. This position reports to the Herc Billing and AR Analytics Manager and ensures that portal billing account customers receive accurate billed invoices in a timely manner. This position requires excellent customer service and attention to detail to ensure contract compliance and help promote long-term business relationships with our customers and Internal Business Partners. Effective communication skills and the ability to accurately communicate billing issues are critical in obtaining account resolution and to minimize payment delays. Billing procedures have been developed to provide a systematic way of managing accounts while also retaining our customer’s loyalty and driving successful business results.
Responsibilities
- Ensures timely and accurate billing of customer portal billed accounts including National Account (NARP) invoices to ensure contract compliance.
- Proactively reach out to internal contacts on invoice issues and rejections, provide invoice copies, documentation and other activities required to ensure payment on past due invoices.
- Familiarity with portal and vendor registrations in portal like Ariba, Taulia, Coupa, etc.
- Process customer discrepancies with a sense of urgency.
- Take proactive measures to address and bring material portal changes to department heads.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external customers to drive efficiencies in processes.
- Assist in projects, process improvements, and other related tasks as identified by management.
Professional Experience
- Two years’ work experience utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Prior portal billing experience.
- One year credit and collection experience preferred.
Skills/Competencies
- 10 key by touch and type minimum 45 wpm
- Proficient Microsoft Excel and Word
- Professional Telephone/Teams Etiquette
- Strong sense of urgency and customer focus
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication
- ‘Interpersonal/People Skills’, for working with colleagues and customers.
- Organizational and time management skills
