The position of Material Handler performs duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for all duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.
- Provide support to manufacturing employees and resolves problems utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/ floor stock operations.
- Utilize safety knowledge to maintain a safe work environment.
- Skill in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment.
- Utilize effective verbal/oral communication skills to interact with employees, management and customers.
- Interact in a friendly, cooperative attitude with internal departments and external customers.
- Function independently and follow oral/written instructions with the ability to produce accurate work when frequently interrupted.
- Read and understand bills of materials and instructions to ensure accuracy that the coil selected is the exact gauge and width required for the product.
- Understand the total weight capacity of each uncoiler and ensuring that each uncoiler must have a label attached to the machine for maximum coil weight capacity.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience operating a forklift and/or other materials handling equipment.
- Minimum 1 year general work production/manufacturing experience with shipping, receiving, inspecting storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.
- Ability to read and interpret bills of material and instructions.
- Ability to produce accurate work with frequent interruptions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally with other departments and customers.
- Workers must adhere to the Colorado Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No.9 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Pass pre-employment qualifications per the Local No. 9 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders. Ability to understand job instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Must be able to perform these operations using American units of money, weight, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret, understand, and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
ATTENDANCE DEMANDS: Attendance is required Monday through Friday within normal business hours as established by the supervisor. Employee may be required to work overtime.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use a hand to finger, handle and feel objects, took, and controls and to climb and balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must be able to communicate readily and to talk and hear. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly exposed to vibration
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places
- Occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock
- The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud
