The position of Skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for assisting in the fabrication, assembly and of sheet metal products. M-Th 2 : 15 pm-12 : 45 am.
23.00 -$41.82 per hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reading and Interpreting Shop Drawings & Work Orders : Understanding technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine project specifications.
- Material Selection and Preparation : Choosing appropriate types of sheet metal (galvanized, aluminum, copper, etc.) and material thickness based on project needs and cutting, bending, or shaping it to size.
- Measuring and Layout : Using measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, or rulers) to mark and layout metal sheets according to design requirements.
- Cutting and Shaping : Operating equipment like shears, saws, lasers, and presses to cut or form metal into desired shapes.
- Fabrication : Fabricating parts through hammering, welding, riveting, bolting, or roll-forming and fabricating them specified standards.
- Assembly : Joining and sealing sheet metal components using various methods, tools and techniques.
- Quality Inspection : Ensuring the finished products meet specifications, dimensions, and safety standards through proper inspection.
- Maintenance and Repairs : Performing basic repairs on damaged or worn sheet metal components and maintaining tools and equipment.
- Safety Compliance : Following industry safety guidelines, wearing protective gear, and maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Collaboration : Working with engineers, construction teams, or project managers to ensure deadlines and design specifications are met.

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees within the organization. Ability to speak, read and hear English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to interpret documents and instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
ATTENDANCE DEMANDS : Attendance is required Monday through Friday within as established by the Shop Superintendent. Employee may be required to work overtime.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to grasp and lift and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb and balance. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 75 pounds. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
