Title of Position : Quality Control Technician

Compensation : $60,000-$65,000 annually shift incentive bonuses and discretionary bonuses based on performance.

FSLA : Exempt

Location : Greater Detroit Metro

So, what does a QC Tech do?

You are the heart of our ready-mix quality control team :

Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies.

Monitor daily concrete production ensuring compliance with industry standards, and work with company drivers to ensure customer delivery schedules are met.

Present favorable company image to customers and employees.

Act as a company liaison between our production team, sales, site engineers, inspectors and customers, addressing concerns and complaints.

Assist in day to day laboratory functions, including cylinder handling, compression, aggregate sampling, grading and entering data into the QC computer data base using materials from multiple countries.

Job site testing per company QC policies and initiate processes to test concrete mixes at customer sites and accept, or reject, company related ready mix concrete deliveries.

Assist in maintaining plant site and equipment with high expectations of appearance and cleanliness in accordance with company policy.

Preferred Qualifications :

A college degree highly preferred, particularly in engineering, concrete industry management, construction management, or related field.

1-2 years of related experience in the concrete industry

Test, document, and report concrete plastic properties

A commitment to team concepts, ownership and an outgoing personality.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all managers, employees, vendors and customers.

Excellent problem solving skills.

Working computer skills.

May be required to use protective gear and to take other precautions.

Required to work long hours during peak season

Able to think analytically and on the spot when problems arise.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Familiar with WINDOWS (basic applications), Microsoft Office Suite, and basic computer skills

Working knowledge, or the willingness to learn, best testing practices.

Working Conditions :

Able to work extended hours as needed - Up to 70 hours per week during the peak season.

Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors

Must wear protective equipment while at the location
