Mitigation Lead Technician
FLSA Classification : Non-Exempt
Salary Grade / Level / Family / Range : Hourly, Full-Time
Reports to : Mitigation Manager
The Mitigation Technician 2 is responsible for delivering emergency mitigation services to clients and referral partners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role involves both routine and emergency tasks to manage property damage, ensuring effective restoration and customer satisfaction. Technicians will work across varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and will be on-call for emergency response.
Documentation & Reporting :
Secure all required documentation for each project (e.g., Work Authorizations, Drying Logs, Scope Sheets, Photo Documentation, Hold Harmless Agreements, Certificate of Completion / Satisfaction).
- Use MICA to map moisture levels and establish project scope.
- Document loss details with Docusketch and other 3D imaging equipment.
On-Site Work :
Install containment and safety mechanisms at work sites.
Establish and monitor drying protocols, including the setup and maintenance of drying equipment (e.g., AFDs).Perform controlled demolition services when necessary.Ensure proper testing (e.g., iTel) and emergency cleaning and sanitization services.Customer Interaction :
Collect deductibles and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the mitigation process.
Manage client contents / personal property as needed.Provide every job sales activities, including securing customer reviews, referrals, and placing yard signage.Preventative Maintenance & Equipment Management :
Perform regular maintenance on fleet vehicles and company tools and equipment.
On-Call & After-Hours Responsibilities :
Participate in a 24 / 7 on-call rotation, responding to emergency losses during off-hours.
Be responsive during assigned shifts and ensure field team members are aware of their on-call responsibilities.On-call compensation : $100 per call out, plus hourly rate for time worked.Competencies

On-Call Availability :Participates in rotating on-call schedule, ready to respond to emergency losses as needed.
Must answer all calls during on-call shifts.Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee temporary labor staff and Mitigation Technician I staff as needed.Work Environment
Office, residential, and commercial work sites.Exposure to worksite environments that may include noise from power tools, machinery, and confined spaces.The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work in environments that may include exposure to fire, smoke, water, and mold.Physical Demands
Ability to sit in vehicles for prolonged periods.Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.Exposure to high noise levels and standard worksite conditions.Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Availability for after-hours and weekend work.Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.Ability to work in PPE, including respiratory protection, and high-risk environments.Ability to work in confined spaces, and environments affected by fire, smoke, and water.Dependable, drug-free, and pass background checks.Preferred Education and Experience
2 years of experience in the insurance restoration industry.IICRC certifications in Water, Fire, and Mold restoration (e.g., WRT, ASD, EPA Lead Renovator, AHERA Certification).Familiarity with ANSI / IICRC standards and property insurance claims processes.Experience with technology tools (e.g., iPad, iPhone, DASH, Company Cam, Xactimate).Other Duties
