What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Software Engineer (Python) position at HERE Technologies?
What's the role?
As a Sr Software Engineer you will provide infrastructural support and process design assistance using a standardized and unified Agile process for E2E Product Quality and Customer Excellence teams to support verification and quality of HERE's map content, platform, and applications. Futher you will:
- Design and architect state-of-the-art testing processes via the latest testing techniques, tools, and pipelines for all HERE products and features.
- Execute data engineering activities in cooperation with the rest of the E2E PQ&CE team to increase their output of test validation and assessment results at scale for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Create a data infrastructure framework that can be easily queried by anyone within HERE to make the entire set of PT&A data easily accessible to all.
- Interpret project objectives and requirements and create appropriate data engineering solutions to measure product quality
- Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance software solutions.
- Engage with other HERE stakeholders to understand business and customer expectations (before engaging in engineering process)
- Conduct code reviews, ensure code quality, and enforce best practices.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, scrum calls and retrospectives.
Who are you?
You are a go-getter, with an eye for detail, strong problem-solving, a bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or related field, and have the following:
- Five to eight years of professional experience including strong experience in data engineering
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Highly skilled in programming in Python, SQL
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Knowledge and experience with version control(i.e. GitLab) and CI/CD
- Knowledge and experience with AWS
- Highly skilled with Data Structures and OOPS Concepts
- Knowledge of Quality Management, End-to-End quality test strategy.

In this role you will be part of our Product Quality Engineering team which provides support to End to End Product Quality & Customer Excellence through data curation and management, software tool development and support, data visualization and automation and infrastructure for ground-truth assessment and analytic services.
