Sr Software Engineer (Tableau)

What's the role?

In this role you will:

• Design and publish interactive dashboards on Tableau Server, ensuring data accuracy and availability.
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to standardize and clean data for business requirements.
• Create and edit SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
• Manage ETL processes to ensure data is properly transformed and loaded for reporting.
• Review and improve existing reporting systems, integrating new solutions where needed.
• Provide end-user support, maintaining technical documentation for dashboards and workflows.
• Design and visualize KPIs and metrics, optimizing dashboards for performance, especially with large datasets.
• Use advanced Tableau features such as calculated fields, LOD expressions, table calculations, data blending, and dynamic filters.
• Build data narratives through dashboards, making complex insights accessible to non-technical users.
• Manage Tableau workbooks, including permissions, access control, and data refresh schedules.

 

Who are you?

You are a team-player who collaborates well within a diverse team. A fast learner and are comfortable working with little direction. You take initiative and bring up ideas. In addition you have the following: 

• BS or MS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Five to eight years of working experience inclusing 4-5 years of work experience in data visualization and development and maintenance of databases, ETL systems, and user tools.
• Extensive experience in developing, maintaining and managing Tableau driven dashboards & analytics and working knowledge of Tableau administration/architecture
• Experience in data blending, data transformation, and ETL processes.
• Strong SQL skills for creating complex queries and working with databases.
• Proficient in querying relational databases, optimizing data for Tableau reporting and visualization, and designing efficient database schemas with a focus on normalization and performance.
• Experience integrating Tableau with cloud services (AWS - Redshift, S3, Athena; Azure - SQL Database, Data Lake, Synapse) to scale solutions and ensure performance, security, and high availability.
• Familiarity with big data and skilled in integrating large data sources with Tableau, along with troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues.

This team ensures that every solution and service we deliver not only meets but exceeds customer expectations through an unwavering commitment to quality. We focus on building and optimizing backend infrastructure, including ETL processes and data pipelines.
