POSITION PURPOSE:
This detail-oriented and self-driven individual will assist with all facets of cybersecurity, including but not limited to incident response, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), privacy compliance, vulnerability management, reporting, triage, and threat modeling. The Junior Security Analyst will work closely with senior members of the security team to ensure the organization's assets and data are protected, while gaining hands-on experience across a range of security disciplines. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with tasks such as security reviews, monitoring, and supporting incident response efforts, while contributing to maintaining secure processes throughout the organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Familiarity with security frameworks, including but not limited to NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, and SOC 2.
- Knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles and concepts, including risk management, threat vectors, and vulnerability assessment
- Basic understanding of networking, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management processes.
- Familiarity with incident response processes, risk assessments, and security tools such as SIEM and vulnerability scanners.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to collaborate and learn from senior team members.
- Security Policy Support: Assist in reviewing and maintaining the organization’s information security policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with enterprise risks and industry standards.
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Support the implementation and enforcement of security policies, assist with internal audits, risk assessments, and third-party vendor management. Help identify gaps, develop remediation strategies, and ensure security controls are aligned with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Incident Response: Monitor and respond to security alerts from systems such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools. Assist with investigating security incidents and documenting findings.
- Vulnerability Management: Assist in conducting regular vulnerability assessments, ensuring timely patch management and remediation of identified risks. Help analyze vulnerability data and prioritize remediation efforts in collaboration with IT teams.
- Security Reporting and Triage: Contribute to security reporting by preparing reports for management and documenting incident details. Assist in triaging security alerts, helping assess the severity of potential threats.
- Risk Mitigation: Assist in tracking identified security risks and supporting senior analysts in the development of risk mitigation strategies, while working with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business needs.
