The Heritage at Irene Woods is recruiting for a Medication Aide – you may call this role a Medication Tech, certification is required. We require a very high level of customer service so candidates who have a passion for seniors are needed.
Medication Aides provide medication assistance to the residents of the community, following the guidelines by Heritage at Irene Woods.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Resident Care Associate:
- Safely prepares, administers, and charts oral, topical, and suppository drugs. The medication aide who prepares the medicine administers same.
- Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting the company culture and vision.
- Complete documentation to ensure that all care services are provided and that resident needs are met.
- Participate in narcotic count at shift change, ensuring accurate documentation of inventory count.
- Promote a calm atmosphere.
- Complete and document shift assignments as assigned, if unable to complete, report to nursing supervisor.
- Report to nurse on duty and Director of Health Services all unusual behavior of resident (changing of status).
- Participates in weekly medication cart audits, as assigned.
- Respond to call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.
- Ensures all new medication orders are faxed to pharmacy to obtain medication in an accurate and timely manner.
- Follows Physicians Order Protocol to ensure proper processing of orders.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- One (1) year experience working as a PCA/HHA/RA/Med Tech preferred
- One (1) year experience working in assisted living/memory care preferred
State of Tennessee Medication Certification Required
