What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN/RN - Medication Assisted Treatment position at Heritage Behavioral Health Center?
This full-time position will join the Heritage nursing team to provide support and medication services to assist adults with a diagnosis of substance use who are enrolled in the agency's Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR) program. Services will be provided at our downtown office in Decatur, Illinois. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with clients, nursing team, physician, providers, and other members of Heritage teams. Responsibilities are aligned with Federal and State regulations governing methadone medication assisted treatment.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide daily medication administration in the medication assisted recovery program
- Adherence to agency policies and procedures, accrediting bodies for Opioid Treatment Program (CARF), and federal and state guidelines (Substance Use Prevention and Recovery, DEA, and SAMHSA)
- Provide nursing assessments, medication administration, medication monitoring, and medication training to assist clients with learning how to self-administer medications, monitor response to medications on target symptoms, how to properly secure and store medications, and how to communicate concerns to providers, referral and care coordination
- Coordinate holistic care for individuals receiving medication assistance recovery including primary care, labs, mental health or substance use treatment, and other identified needs/care
- Education on health and wellness, including, yet not limited, to chronic health disease self-management, infectious diseases, and primary care
- Participate in a team-based approach to providing treatment including collaboration with clinicians, nursing, healthcare providers, and other partners invested in the individual's recovery
- Attend clinical staffing(s) to collaborate with providers to coordinate treatment including counselors, engagement staff, nursing, physician(s) and clinical leaders
- Ability to accurately document in the electronic health record daily on interventions, client's response, and client's progress in treatment
- Ongoing learning of current best practices in behavioral health treatment
- Knowledge or ability to strengthen knowledge of substance use and mental health and evidence-based treatment approaches including medication assisted recovery
This position requires an individual to be able to work three 12 hour shifts a week (5:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.) plus two Saturdays a month (7 a.m. - 11 a.m.).
Education and Experience:
An active undisciplined State of Illinois LPN or RN licensure and minimum of 21 years of age are required. Valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation, and evidence of insurability are required.
