What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmhand position at HERITAGE BROADCASTING GROUP INC?
NanBop Farm is a beyond organic, regenerative farm located in Cadillac, Michigan! We are a dynamic farm with BIG goals! We are a functional farm that is focused on education, food, and fun! We want to highlight the realities of farming while sparking the joy of cooking fresh, nutritious food sourced locally. We have laying hens in full lay, goats, and full vegetable production! We aim to be an educational center on all fronts: internships, farm tours, small conventions, agrotourism, TV segments, classes, and more.
We are looking for an enthusiastic farmhand to be an active participant in the farm. The right candidate would have a passion for both vegetable and livestock production and will be expected to work with both aspects of the farm daily.
The Work:
- Weeding
- Seeding
- Planting
- Harvesting
- Tractor work
- Putting up and tearing down livestock fencing
- Daily livestock chores
- Egg collection and packaging
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Solid time management skills and a strong work ethic
- Prior farm and/or agricultural experience preferred but not required
- The physical ability to perform demanding farm chores with reasonable accommodations
This job is part-time with an expected range of 16-20 hours per week. Saturdays and Sundays are required.
Compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, individual education level, skills, certifications, and experience.
