The Position: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced News Producer/Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about journalism, possess strong editorial judgment, and have the ability to produce compelling news stories across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the editorial process from story conception to publication, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and adherence to journalistic standards.
- Pitch, research, and develop news stories that resonate with our audience and align with our editorial mission.
- Collaborate with reporters, writers, and other team members to generate ideas and execute content plans.
- Edit and proofread articles, videos, and multimedia content for clarity, coherence, and consistency.
- Manage deadlines and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules in a fast-paced news environment.
- Stay informed about current events, trends, and developments in the industry to inform editorial decisions.
- Monitor audience engagement metrics and feedback to continuously improve content quality and relevance.
Qualifications:
- A degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a news producer, editor, or similar role in a digital newsroom or media organization.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, principles, and practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in content management systems, video editing software, and other digital tools.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and social media trends is a plus.
