WAGE :
Wage will be determined based on skills and experience.
SCHEDULE :
Scheduled hours will be 9 : 00am-5 : 30pm Monday - Friday.
LOCATIONS :
This position will work directly out of the Heritage Building Maintenance Office but may be required to travel around the Des Moines area for recruiting services, vendor fairs, job fairs, and other company needs.
JOB SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for providing all recruiting functions for the Heritage Building Maintenance. This could include attending job fairs, vendor fairs, festivals, and off-site interviews. This position will need to partner with various staffing agencies and Iowa Workforce initiatives to ensure staffing is managed properly. Position will be the main source of communication with applicants and new hires until fully onboarded and handed off to manager or building supervisor. This will include recruiting and promoting various positions, conducting interviews, and screening candidates, running background checks and pre-employment screening, training managers on interview skills and assisting with this process if necessary for various positions, offering jobs and answering applicant questions, scheduling, and coordinating orientations and managing the orientation process. This could include conducting on-site orientations verbally and / or maintaining electronic orientations. This position will be required to maintain compliance of all orientation and onboarding training materials and make sure communication is clear with any required parties within the organization.
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for employee
benefits. This will include coordinating and communicating any new benefits as they become available, ensuring benefits documents are explained and in order. Enrolling employees in benefits and cancelling insurance when necessary. During annual open enrollment this position will be responsible for assisting with and facilitating a smooth open enrollment process and maintaining requirements. This will include off-site communications with employees when needed.
This position will participate in other Human Resource functions including employee meetings, conducting investigations, handling performance improvement plans and corrective actions among other similar tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages with employees.
- Administer health insurance programs
- Coordinate new hire training with managers.
- Update employee records with new hire information.
- Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions along with salary records
- Forecast hiring needs and ensure recruitment process runs smoothly
- Process employees' queries and respond in a timely manner
- Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation
- Communication with managers and administrative team members
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. Refers more complex questions to appropriate senior level HR Staff or Management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of the HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed properly.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing
processing errors, and distributing checks.

Direct Deposit Pay every other Friday. Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance and 401K with a company
match available for full time employees working 30 hours per week. Paid Holidays after 90 days for full time employees working 30 hours per week. PTO accumulation for full time employees working 30 hours per week.
