Art Teacher
Part-Time (Less than 30 hours a week)
Hourly pay: Depending on degree and experience.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and a valid teaching certificate.
· Able to accept and uphold the Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of HCS.
· Agreeable to terms set forth in the HCS Personnel Manual and Teacher Agreement.
· Strong track record of student achievement in your past teaching.
· Ability to create a class environment in which students feel safe, supported and challenged to engage deeply in meaningful work.
· Unshakable conviction that all students can learn at a high level.
· Able to pass Ohio Revised Code required Background Check and drug test.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Provide instruction at the elementary and middle school level in cultivating student creativity.
· Willing and able to teach Bible.
· Willingness to teach core curriculum activities in a small group setting to support HCS mission of Academic Excellence.
· Able to handle, order, and use properly all needed supplies for all art classes.
· Maintain online grade book.
· Prepare weekly lesson plans.
· Follow all Ohio State Standards for appropriate grade levels.
· Develop and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous lessons aligned with HCS standards and progressive pedagogical philosophy.
· Inspire students to hold themselves to high standards of academic achievement and character.
· Analyze assessment data, and use it to inform your instruction.
· Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of skills and standards.
· Demonstrate positive classroom management as well as carrying out discipline procedures as needed.
· Integrate Biblical principles and Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.
· Instruct with a Christian worldview in mind at all times.
· Maintain a clean, positive user-friendly, safe classroom.
· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information regarding students, families and teachers.
· Employ a variety of instructional aide, methods and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child: mental, physical, social, emotional and spiritual.
· Provide excellent customer service through parent, student and teacher interactions.
· Develop ideas to achieve student achievement targets.
· Serve as a role model for students and staff through professionalism in all areas, including appearance, responsibility and positive customer service.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 29 per week
