Position Overview:
The Medication Technician provides assisted living services to meet resident care needs under the supervision of the Supervisor and/or Director and assists in maintaining a positive physical and social environment for the residents.
Essential Duties:
- Assists residents with care activities.
- Supervise and assist with the storage, distribution, and discontinuation of residents’ oral medication(s).
- Document medications and other issues appropriately.
- Report observations to licensed nurse, reporting immediately any changes in resident’s condition to supervisor.
- Monitor vital signs as needed by personnel with current license / qualifications (as required by state regulations).
- Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner.
- Take initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priority.
- Answer phones appropriately, according to company and community standards.

- Provide excellent customer services to internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
- Possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
- Licensed / Certified Home Health Aide (HHA).
- Successful completion of 75 hours of Home Health Aide Training Program (HHAT).
- Successfully completed training as required by Emeritus in accordance with state regulations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, state officials and general public.
- Competent in healthcare related tasks.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly and be part of a dynamic team.
- Must have the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
- Must pass criminal background, physical and drug screening.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
