Job Overview
We are looking for a clinically experienced Dental Assistant who can also manage insurance coordination and front office tasks. The ideal candidate will primarily handle insurance verification, claims processing, and patient communication, while also assisting with chairside support, sterilization, and operatory preparation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dental professional with strong clinical skills who is eager to expand their knowledge of insurance and front office administration. While we can train on the insurance side, we require hands-on dental assisting experience.
Responsibilities
Insurance & Administrative Duties
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits before appointments.
- Process and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claims issues.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the front office to ensure proper coding for services rendered.
Clinical Duties
- Assist chairside with procedures, including patient preparation and post-op care.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness.
- Stock and organize dental supplies.
- Take impressions, X-rays, and assist with lab cases (as needed).
Experience & Qualifications
- Dental assisting experience is required.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and chairside assisting.
- Willingness to learn and take on administrative tasks, including insurance coordination.
- Experience with insurance verification and claims processing is a plus (but not required).
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency with dental software is beneficial.
