Position Overview:
The Expanded Duties Dental Assistant will support our dentists and dental team by assisting in a variety of clinical procedures, preparing patients for treatments, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. The ideal candidate will have experience in the dental field and hold a valid Expanded Duties Dental Assistant certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, preventive, and surgical procedures
- Perform expanded duties such as placing dental sealants, taking X-rays, assisting with fillings, crowns, and other restorative treatments
- Sterilize and prepare instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Manage patient flow and ensure efficient office operations
- Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and updating patient files, as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) in Kentucky
- At least 3 years of experience as a dental assistant (preferred)
- Knowledge of dental software and office equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and compassionate with patient care
