Job Description: Accountant
Heritage Financial is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic and collaborative team. As part of a holistic financial planning firm, you will play a vital role in ensuring our clients’ financial well-being by providing exceptional accounting and tax-related services.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Bookkeeping: Manage and maintain accurate financial records for the firm using QuickBooks Online.
- Tax Preparation: Prepare individual tax returns and handle select corporate tax cases with precision and timeliness.
- Tax Planning Deliverables: Assist in the creation of actionable tax planning strategies for clients in collaboration with financial planners.
- RMD Administration: Support Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) processes for wealth management clients.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with financial planners and tax professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to clients’ financial needs.
- Flexible Assistance: During non-peak periods, contribute to other tasks within the firm to support holistic financial planning initiatives (secondary to core duties).
Qualifications
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
- Proficiency in preparing individual tax returns; corporate tax experience is a plus.
- An active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) is required, but we are happy to assist with renewal if it has not yet been for the current year.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- CPA or EA designation is not required but is a bonus.
- A background check will be required prior to employment.
