Heritage Flooring is a family owned and operated flooring business that specializes in commercial and hospitality flooring that services Louisiana and the Gulf Coast area. We are looking to expand our team with an Estimator/ Project Manager Assistant who is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and works well with a team, with the desire to grow.
Candidate must excel in communicating with clients, installers, vendors, and sales staff. Product knowledge and the ability to read plans, takeoffs, and cut sheets is preferred. Experience on Quickeye and programs such as Procore and ConstructConnect is very helpful. They must be able to manage multiple projects, undertake a variety of day-to-day office tasks and anticipate the needs of the business while delivering exceptional service.
The position is available as a full-time position (40hours per week). Our office is located centrally in St. Tammany Parish (Lacombe, LA). Typical offices hours are: 8:30am-5:00pm

Brief description of job duties for Estimator & Project Manager Assistant:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, using various software programs and computer-based blueprints to:
- Create area take-offs for different material types
- Review construction documents (blueprints/ drawings, specifications and product manuals, etc.)
- Generate cost estimates for commercial builders
- Communicate with material suppliers for cost & availability
- Analyze costs for upgrade product installations and custom designs
- Prioritize multiple immediate tasks and coordinating with other team members to meet the needs and expectations of clients
- Identify potential installation problems based on plans, products or requested designs
- Submitting RFI's to contractors
- Interaction with vendors and clients
- Attend job site meetings as needed
- Oversee quality control at job site as needed
- Descoping projects with in-house Project Managers
- Preparing change orders, schedule of values, project submittal packages, and closeout packages
- Assist office personnel with other duties, etc.
Required/ Preferred skills for the position:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel)
- Commercial Flooring/ Construction experience is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of floor covering installation (carpet, tile, wood, and vinyl) is a plus
- Detail-oriented and a quick learner
- Able to read and interpret basic blueprints
- Advanced math skills
- Familiarity with square feet / square yard dimensions
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Possess professional and thorough communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment & shift direction quickly
