What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floral Assistant position at Heritage Florals?
We’re hiring a Floral Assistant to support our design team with day-to-day production tasks in our warehouse studio. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a creative setting, and is eager to learn more about floral design from the ground up. You don’t need to have floral experience—we’re happy to train the right person—but you do need to be reliable, organized, and ready to roll up your sleeves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unpack, hydrate, and process fresh floral shipments upon arrival
- Clean, prep, and organize vases, hard goods, and workstations
- Assist designers by prepping mechanics and pulling flowers to recipe
- Help transport floral items between cooler, design tables, and staging zones
- Load and unload delivery vans or box trucks for events (as needed)
- Keep studio areas clean and tidy throughout the workday
- Participate in post-event breakdowns and hard good returns
- Support with on-site installations when required (optional)
Requirements:
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift buckets or boxes (up to 40 lbs), and move quickly during busy days
- Comfort working in a cooler environment for short periods
- Dependability and good time management skills
Bonus Points:
- Previous experience in a floral studio, warehouse, or event setting
- Creative background or interest in design
- Valid driver’s license (for event assistance or errands)
Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-time, seasonal, or freelance hours available based on event needs
- Studio hours typically fall between Monday and Saturday
- Flexible scheduling for students or those with other part-time jobs
- Hourly pay starting at competitive rates with opportunity for growth
