We are hiring energetic, creative staff for our Daytime Enrichment Program, based in Allendale and Coopersville!
Our Day Program serves participants at two site locations, in Allendale and Coopersville, MI. This program meets the needs of a very special population, serving adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, who also have significant ongoing therapeutic, medical and sensory needs. Staff are responsible for providing a range of care needs, including but not limited to, physical therapy and occupational health associated goals. Many of our clients are dependent on staff to provide them with assistance in personal care, feeding and various other daily living skills.
As our program grows, we continue to build a team of staff that are compassionate and creative and able to engage individuals in meaningful activities, with both active and passive participants. Staff are also responsible for helping with the development of activities, including both community based integration and facility based activities to meet the needs of all individuals served.
These positions provide valuable experience in the field for anyone seeking future professions/careers in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Autism/Behavior Analysis, Psychology and Social Work. It is also a rewarding experience for anyone that has a passion for service and a heart for this special population.
Hours of Day Program operation are approximately 8am-4pm Monday through Friday. Currently hiring for Full Time (Monday thru Friday) to work at both locations. (Flexible scheduling for students considered.) Must be able to work at both locations and staff may be required to work or attend meetings somewhat outside of the 8A-4P hours.
Compensation Details:
Direct Support Professional, no experience - $18.80/hour
($15.40 base wage $3.40 hero pay*)
Higher pay possible with experience in Direct Support.
*Hero pay (state wage passthrough pay) does not apply to benefit time pay.
Paid training. Experience a plus. Training is provided by Ottawa County Community Mental Health (CMH).
Qualifications include: Ability to engage consumers in active and passive participation; it is imperative that staff have a valid, current, Michigan Driver’s license which agrees with our insurance company’s requirements for staff driving our vehicles and transporting consumers; must have demonstrated reliability, trustworthiness, quality care giving skills, good attendance and scheduling flexibility, and good communication and interpersonal skills.
Applicants must also meet the essential job requirements for direct support staff including: Be over the age of 18, have a high school diploma or GED, be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, TB test and Michigan State Police check.
