JOB PURPOSE:
Coordinates production prepares and serves nutritious, appealing meals to residents following orders, standards and regulations. Responsible for kitchen/dining management, including delegation of kitchen cleanliness and education/training of cleaning policies.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the oversight and management of the daily food service operations, employees and events
- Assuring consistent, outstanding customer service to our residents
- Assisting in the development of the dietary team, coordination and supervising unit personnel regarding orientation, production, merchandising, quality and cost control, labor scheduling staffing and employee training
- Assisting in the maintenance of systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing and serving of food and related products, as well as menu planning and development.
- Ensuring that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels in respective areas are met
- Conducting periodic inventory and maintaining records to comply with company, government and accrediting agency standards
- Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff as well as other related departments in planning food services programs and activities
- Assist in developing, implementing and coordinating departments policies and procedures, resident care plans, dietary manuals, jobs description, etc.
- Review department policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc. at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes

- Determine department staffing, evaluate employee performance, and make recommendations to the administrator concerning wage & salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, transfers, etc.
- Recommend to the Administrator the equipment and supply needs of the department
- Responsible for scheduling department working hours, personnel, work assignments, etc.
- Responsible for purchasing food, supplies, equipment, etc.
- Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department supervisors
- Previous experience in food service management or a similar supervisory role is required.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary guidelines for skilled nursing facilities.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on resident satisfaction.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong Culinary, customer service, communication, team building and organizational skills required. The ability to lift, pull, push 40 pounds. Nutritional certification required as CDM or above with 2 years minimum experience in food service related work. Must be Servsafe Certified. Ability to understand and adhere to kosher dietary guidelines.

Pay: $57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
