What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academy Teacher position at Heritage of Love Academy?
We are recruiting a Teacher for our Academy.
This position is a full time teacher position in the Infants/Toddler/2's classroom. The hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:00a-12:00p and Fridays 7:00a-5:00p and on call if a Teacher is absent.
The pay is $12 per hour, paydays are biweekly.
This is a classroom teaching position and requires experience working in a childcare, church preschool or home childcare.
We have low teacher student ratio and we are looking for a Educator who work great teaching, creative with art projects, planning lesson plans, teaching diverse learners and maintain a positive classroom management.
We are a faith based academy and teachers are required to create activities for the indoor classroom and outdoor classroom.
This position requires a team member who takes initiative, organized and great classroom management.
This position will rotate between both school locations in Alvarado, for now, the position will begin at the first location and rotate, as needed.
Additional Duties:
Creating lesson plans;
Implementing classroom curriculum;
Following a rotating cleaning schedule;
Creating weekly assignments and art projects;
$12 a hour to start and were looking for experienced teachers and minimum 2 years experience working in a childcare center.
Duties:
Teacher will be trained on what's required while working daily with children and becoming apart of the team.
Teacher must have good classroom management, organization and enjoy educating young children.
Teachers rotate cleaning duties with the team, to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
Teachers are well-versed in performance and operations management and competent in assuming delegated duties.
They are leaders and critical thinkers, ready to solve problems before they become obstacles.
The goal is to help the academy attain objectives of productivity, marketing, educational development and employee satisfaction.
The teacher will plan educational activities and learning goals for the children.
This position will create learning activities, arts and crafts, educational goals etc and must have previous childcare experience and understand educating young children.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing plans and goals for the academy.
- We are faith based and leading devotion is required and creating faith based educational activities
- Work with the team as a viable team player.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Keep children busy with curriculum,
Educational activities, fun and nurturing environment while meeting their objectives/goals.
- Monitor attainment of educational progress,
- Open ended art projects and effective classroom management,
- Create weekly lesson plans, educational goals for the children.
- Create reports and submit them to the director.
- Cleaning rotations, organization, classroom management and following daily schedules are required.
- Fulfill duties as deemed necessary and assigned by the director.

- Skills
- Previous childcare center or childcare home , classroom and administrative experience preferred but not required.
- Hours worked are between 6.30a and 5:45p, Monday-Friday
- Experience in data entry to plan educational activities, professional development and operations management.
- Create lesson plans and learning objectives for the children
- Knowledge of relevant state, health and city regulations and quality standards.
- Outstanding communication, both written and verbal and training skills.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Aptitude in problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Must take initiative and be proactive.
