Minimum Education

MBA MBA/MHA or equivalent in healthcare, information technology or general business. (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

5 years' related and progressive experience, preferably in healthcare and/or project management (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge

Demonstrates strong project/program management skills, leadership attributes (strategic thinking, ability to drive business change, sharing of organizational goals, leading multidisciplinary groups).

Ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and effective communication and presentation skills.

Knowledge in project management, process redesign techniques and skills, audit techniques, financial analysis, problem solving, change management and customer service skills.

Working knowledge of Visio, MS project, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Word.

Functional Accountabilities

Project Management

  • Develop project plans & timelines; participate in ongoing Project Planning Activities to include Project Schedule development, Resource Allocation, Issue Prioritization, Risk Planning, Communication Planning.
  • Identify a task's status and highlight critical pathways and vulnerabilities; ensure progress toward, and achievement of milestones.
  • Identify and resolve obstacles/barriers to success and risks associated with project.
  • Empowered to make decisions, take action and escalate issues.
  • Manage staff as assigned; provide training; mentor staff on project management.
  • Serve as the liaison among various stakeholders (clinical & non-clinical depts., IT services, vendor, etc.)

Issue Management

  • Maintain issues list for assigned projects.
  • Integrate resolution of ongoing operational issues into solution design as possible.
  • Ensure ongoing changes are incorporated into new application build and testing.
  • Identify quality management and risk issues associated with the implementation and develop appropriate mitigation strategy.

Re-engineering/re-design of workflow processes

  • Create, design, and review detailed current state workflow processes.
  • Be able to understand project product’s benefits and limitations.
  • Leverage technology to improve processes as appropriate.
  • Facilitate change with end stakeholders.
  • Design, create, and implement alternative solutions as appropriate.

Communication

  • Develop communication plan for each initiative and develop effective communication within assigned teams; facilitate team discussions and provide detailed feedback and follow-through.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder satisfaction tools for each project to ensure stakeholder buy-in and satisfaction.
  • Present updates and status reports to the various teams associated with project.
  • Keep accountable executives informed of progress, barriers, etc.
  • Listen and provide feedback to end user suggestions and issues.

Enterprise PMO Support

  • Assist in development of templates and tools to improve project management organization wide.
  • Mentor junior project managers and analysts in established project management techniques.

Organizational Accountabilities

  • Set and clearly communicate team goals and priorities in alignment with departmental goals and budgets.
  • Develop the budget and assign resources to meet the team goals.
  • Provide the resources and guidance required for employees to perform effectively.
  • Develop procedures to ensure high safety and quality, and course-correct as needed.
  • Identify customers’ needs and ensure service excellence in meeting those needs.

Engage

  • Be the link between the department and the team in defining the strategies to meet team goals.
  • Provide prompt and clear feedback to staff and support their performance.
  • Ensure team adherence to organizational regulations.
  • Manage the working environment to promote productivity and motivation.
  • Represent the team in clearing obstacles to high performance.
  • Hire staff and develop their capabilities.
  • Monitor and promote strong employee engagement.

Grow

  • Encourage and share new ways of making the right work easier to do.
  • Recognize and share incremental improvements in operations.
  • Promote the success of organizational and department initiatives by clearly aligning programs to the mission.
