We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team and help enrich the lives of our residents through a variety of activities. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of engaging activities. You will work under the supervision of the Activities Director to ensure residents have opportunities for social interaction, physical activity, and cognitive stimulation
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing a diverse range of activities, including group activities, individual activities, and outings.
- Facilitate activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all residents.
- Transport residents to and from activities, providing assistance as needed.
- Document resident participation and progress in activities.
- Assist with preparing activity materials and setting up activity areas.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude, promoting a sense of well-being among residents.
- Assist in developing and implementing activity programs that meet the needs and interests of residents.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Follow all facility policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a healthcare setting or working with seniors preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with seniors.
- Ability to lift and assist residents as needed.
- Basic computer skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
