Housekeeping Job DescriptionThe following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.Follow Indiana Health codes and policies.Follow The Heritage of Fort Wayne policies and proceduresEstimate amounts of required supplies, to avoid having to refilling cart throughout the dayRecognize areas that need cleaned or extra attention and address itMaintain a well groomed appearance and practices of personal hygieneReport to work as scheduled, demonstrating dependabilityWillingness to help out wherever needed unless doctor slip with restrictions, not to exceed 60 daysMaintaining a safe environment for staff, residents, and visitorsStaying on task and within your areas, unless break or lunch or leaving for a related chore. Leaving your area without authorization could result in disciplineListens to complaints attentively and reports them to the supervisorProvides care to resident's room and personal belongings, without violating the resident's rights.Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.Performs cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices.Sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways; spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners. Rotates runners in hallways and entryways.Collects trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas.Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes, both lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities; stocks dispensers as necessary.Dusts, washes, sponge mops, sanitize and hand shampoos furniture; dusts desk and floor lamps, cleans and polishes glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills.Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, wood work, window frames and sills.Maintains equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition.Reports any needed repairs to the Housekeeping Supervisor.Reports supply and equipment needs to Housekeeping Supervisor for replenishing.Performs other duties assigned by supervisorFollow direction of Hospitality Director and / or Supervisors on a daily basisAbilities Required for HousekeepingOral ExpressionThe ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.Information OrderingThe ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).Problem SensitivityThe ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
