Groundskeeper (1 Year Experience Req.)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to maintain and enhance the appearance of our grounds and landscaping. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the outdoor spaces are clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, and planting.
• Maintain lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, and other landscaping elements.
• Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
• Remove debris, trash, and fallen branches from outdoor areas.
• Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper water usage and repairs as needed.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments to maintain healthy plants and lawns, adhering to safety guidelines.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting walkways, and leaf collection.
• Assist in basic maintenance of outdoor structures, such as benches, fences, and pathways.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of equipment.
• Report any damages, safety hazards, or necessary repairs to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience is required.
• Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
• Basic knowledge of horticulture, irrigation systems, and plant care is advantageous.
• Physical stamina to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license may be required, depending on the role.

Work Environment:

• Outdoor work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
• Frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Exposure to dirt, dust, and chemicals used in landscaping.

As a Groundskeeper, you will be essential in maintaining the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces. Reporting to the Landscape Manager, you will utilize your core skills in landscape maintenance and groundskeeping to ensure that all areas are well-kept and inviting. Your experience with irrigation systems will enhance your ability to manage water resources effectively. Additionally, your relevant skills in lawn care, gardening, and the use of hand and power tools will contribute to the overall health and aesthetics of the landscape. • Minimum of 1 year of experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance
• Proficient in lawn care and gardening techniques
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
