- Experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, cooking, plating, culinary arts, and/or hospitality is preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to menus and recipes, special dietary needs, correct portioning of food, food presentation, and proper serving methods as instructed by the executive chef
- Monitor food preparation and timeliness of serving, including compliance to all HSL policies and procedures and state guidelines
- Provide customer service to residents during meals, including brief visits to monitor satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with state and local health department guidelines
- Monitor and ensure cleaning schedules and infection control procedures are being followed
- Written communication: writes at professional level; able to read and interpret written information
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and kneel occasionally throughout an 8-hour work day
- Attendance/punctuality: must be able to work 8-hour days, possibly weekends, between the hours of 7 a.m.-6 p.m. at least 5 days a week and occasionally be able to work up to 60 hours in a week if needed
Education/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food service preferred
- Previous experience in food preparation required
- Experience in health care setting preferred
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must submit and pass all applicable pre-employment and annual tests and meet all training and other applicable state and federal regulations
