What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Nurse position at Heritage Trails Nursing and Rehabilitation?
Heritage Trails Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a Respiratory Nurse to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team! This is a Monday- Friday position with a set schedule.
Pay:
- LPN/LVN: $25/hour - $30/hour DOE
- RN: $35/hour - $40/hour DOE
Respiratory Nurse Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and assess treatment plans for patients with respiratory illnesses
- Conduct patient interviews/assessments
- Monitor patients' progress towards goals
- Carry out diagnostic testing procedures
- Assist and collaborate with other healthcare professionals (i.e. physicians and respiratory therapists)
- Manage and administer medications
- Educate patients and their families on medications as well as various breathing treatments
- Administer different treatments including Oxygen Therapy, Manual CPT, Breathing Exercises, etc
- Advise patients on various lifestyle changes that can alleviate symptoms
- Educate patients on how to prevent respiratory illnesses
- Assessment and management of ventilator and tracheostomy patients
Respiratory Nurse Qualifications:
- Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program
- Must be a licensed registered nurse
- Six months of experience in the last two years or completion of a clinical rotation within the last year in critical care/intensive care environment, to include care of respiratory needs of acutely ill patients
