What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diabetes Nurse Educator (Part time) position at Heritage Valley Health System?
Office Location: HVMG Endocrinology - both Center and Sewickley office, as needed.
Work Hours: Daylight hours, primarily 3 days a week (24 hours per week).
The Diabetes Nurse Educator provides diabetes self-management education and other related wellness education within Heritage Valley Health System. Serve as consultant to Heritage Valley Multispecialty Group, Inc. and other fellow health care professionals, in the delivery of diabetes care and education.
Required
BSN graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Current Pennsylvania RN license in good standing. Current certification as a diabetes educator by the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators, or obtain within 1 year of hire date.
Preferred
Five years recent Medical Surgical nursing experience. Experience in individual and group patient education. Computer skills. Prior knowledge of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
