Work Hours: 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm Casual
WAITSTAFF/SERVER POSITION
The primary function of this position is to assist the Cook in meal preparation and serving meals to residents in accordance with all guidelines and regulations that govern the facility. Servers ensure that all residents have an enjoyable meal experience and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner. Our Servers report to the Food Services Director and may receive guidance from the Executive Director.
TOP AREAS OF FOCUS
- Responsible for minor preparation of food for meals and for in-between meal nourishments.
- Work on the tray-line, serving desserts, salads, beverages or tray set-up.
- Set up the dining room tables with complete individual place settings for each meal and in an attractive manner.
- Deliver food carts to the dining room(s).
- Check in food and supply deliveries in the absence of the supervisor.
- Deliver food carts to the dining rooms and nursing stations. Assist nursing staff with distribution of meals.
- Responsible for sanitary maintenance of food storage areas, equipment, environment and work surfaces using approved sanitizing solutions.
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with elderly and ill populations, health care providers and community services.
- Maintain a professional, customer-oriented demeanor and work cooperatively with co-workers and peers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to walk, sit for extended periods of time, bend, lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally push carts weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds. Additional physical requirements can be shared upon request.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Exposure to food services and/or personal care is helpful, but not required.
