Job Overview
We are currently taking applications and resumes for experienced, dependable and interested people to fill veterinary assistant/technician positions. Need to have veterinary assistant/technician experience. We are a mixed animal practice, so experience with large and small animals is a bonus. This position requires a strong passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and ensuring their comfort.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
- Provide support in pet grooming as needed, ensuring the hygiene and appearance of animals.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and health maintenance for their pets.
- Monitor animal behavior and health status during visits, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing inventory.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and animal anatomy knowledge is desirable.
- Skills in animal restraint techniques and experience
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine .
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.50 - $18.00 per hour
