About the Role:
Are you detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and efficiency? We are seeking a Biller to join our dynamic team at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. In this essential role, you’ll handle the billing of dental services, ensuring timely and accurate claims submission to patients and insurance carriers. Your work will directly support the financial health of our institution while helping our patients navigate their billing needs with confidence and care.

What You’ll Do:

• Master the Details: Analyze and determine appropriate charges for services rendered and ensure accurate billing to maximize reimbursements.
• Be a Problem Solver: Review patient accounts for completeness, resolve billing issues, and address denials for re-billing.
• Drive Efficiency: Maintain detailed records, prepare comprehensive reports, and manage timely submission of claims.
• Engage with Patients: Provide friendly, clear assistance to patients regarding billing inquiries and concerns.
• Collaborate for Success: Work with insurance carriers and colleagues to ensure seamless claim processing.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of billing experience, including familiarity with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private insurance processes.
• Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Expertise in CPT-4 and ICD-9CM coding.
  • Proficiency with computerized billing systems, such as IDX.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

The hourly rate range for this position is $23.37- $27.00 When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
