What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title I Reading Specialist Teacher - Elementary position at Hermann Elementary?
Gasconade County R-1 is seeking highly qualified applicants for a Title I Reading Specialist Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. We are looking for someone to provide students and staff assistance for Title 1 eligible elementary students. Qualified candidates will work with children individually or in small groups to provide appropriate reading interventions and strategies that are developmentally appropriate to the student(s) and consistent with Title 1 provisions. Qualified candidates will also work with teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, and instructional coaches to address student literacy issues and needs as part of an instructional team to support student/classroom learning and activities. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for student excellence and making a positive difference in a child's life.
The successful candidate must be able to implement higher order learning strategies, analyze data to determine area of focus for individual student learning goals, have the ability to integrate technology skills into the classroom, possess strong communication skills, and build positive relationships with students, parents, and the community. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities and Missouri Learning Standards. Hermann Elementary (PK - 3rd) and Middle School (4th - 8th) educate approximately 550 students and has a rich tradition of academic excellence.
A bachelor’s degree is required as well as applicable certifications. A reading specialist certification is preferred but not required and a certification for K-8 is highly desirable; a K-6 certification will also be considered.
