Position Overview : Hermann Transportation seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Customer Service / Billing Representative to join our Monmouth Junction, NJ team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary (commensurate with experience), comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, and a 401(k) matching program.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Accurately issue invoices to customers via paper, email, web portals, or EDI systems.
  • Collaborate with operations staff to gather and verify delivery documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements by validating data entries.
  • Organize and maintain billing documents efficiently.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from customers and employees.
  • Update customer master files with current contact information.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable Specialist in researching short-paid invoices.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Hermann Services, fostering strong relationships with employees and customers.
  • Perform additional accounts receivable and administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications :

  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent alpha-numeric and 10-key data entry abilities.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in the trucking industry or knowledge of seafreight / drayage invoicing is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with TMW, McLeod, or Great Plains software is preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
