About the Role
HerMD is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (CMA preferred) to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our women’s healthcare practice running efficiently in Carmel, Indiana!

Medical Assistant Responsibilities
Our Medical Assistant / Receptionist will work directly with healthcare practice staff with administrative and clinical duties.
Assist physicians and the medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties
Record patient medical history and maintain patient records
Assist in basic examinations
Assist with in office procedures
Prepare treatment rooms for patient exams
Clean and sterilize medical equipment
Assist the office manager in maintaining medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
Mastery of electronic medical records and chart procedures in accordance with the practice standards
Inventory and log all incoming medication samples and medication logs
Respond to patient portal messages and phone calls according to clinic policy
Medical Receptionist Responsibilities
Opening and closing office
Greeting and assisting patients and visitors
Answering phones and returning messages Routing messages to appropriate channel
Entering tasks into the EMR system and maintaining incoming faxes
Checking in / out GYN and / or MedSpa patients and providing them with appropriate paperwork / consents
Ensuring patient paperwork is completed thoroughly
Confirm appointments and ensure proper benefit eligibility verification information is included
Scanning and uploading patient insurance / license and confirming eligibility
Collecting copays and reminding patients of balances and collecting payments
Scheduling / Rescheduling patients for follow up appointments
Keeping reception area clean and sanitizing front desk area and office supplies
Monitoring bathroom supplies
Monitoring and updating of multiple software program / apps used at the front desk

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm; Tuesday - 11 : 00am - 7 : 00pm

Requirements
Medical Assistant / Receptionist Requirements
CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification required
BLS certification required
Strong customer service skills
High level of professionalism
Ability to multitask
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Minimum of 2 years of gynecology experience is preferred
Physical Requirements
Able to sit, stand and move around for long hours at a time
Must be able to work on computer for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
