What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Houseman position at HERMITAGE COUNTRY CLUB?
Job Summary:
Banquet Houseman is responsible for the setup and breakdown of banquet events, meetings, and other events as planned and setting up audio/visual equipment. Banquet Houseman will be responsible for maintaining banquet equipment. Banquet Houseman may also be required to assist other departments as needed.
Job Tasks:
o Review banquet details with Sales & Catering Manager prior to events
o Maintain complete knowledge of the daily schedule of events, times, locations, number of guests, styles of meeting and banquet room settings.
o Set up rooms and functions following design details with tables, chairs, audio/visual, dance floor, easels, and other equipment as specified by the banquet requirements and in accordance with departmental standards. .
o Coordinate with Sales & Catering Manager on the set up of table linens, skirting and tabletop items as specified by the group in accordance departmental standards. Assist with the set up of routine equipment including LCD projectors and screens.
o Breakdown function areas as scheduled in accordance to departmental standards.
o Coordinate deep cleaning of banquet event areas with Housekeeping.
o Inspect event rooms for cleanliness and rectify any deficiencies.
o Inspect cleanliness and working condition of all equipment and supplies to be set up in event area; rectifying any deficiencies.
o Maintain safety procedures at all times in accordance of departmental policies.
o Other duties as assigned by department managers and directors.
Supervises: NA
Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage
Education & Experienced:
o High School or GED or equivalent work experience in similar position.
o Experience in hospitality preferred.
o Experience with interpreting detailed reports for set up of events.
o Must be able to adhere to strict timelines for events
o Excellent communication skills
o Must be team oriented.
o Mut have excellent customer service skills.
Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift or pull 50 ? 100 lbs and move tables, chairs, podiums, piano, etc.
o Ability to stand for hours.
o Ability to push, pull and move heavy equipment.
o Must be able to climb ladders.
